DOREATHER CROWELL
Of Ashburn, VA since August 2007, passed away on February 9 2008, in Ashburn surrounded by loved ones.
Born Doreather Wimberly on March 2, 1932, in Shubuta, MS, she was the third of nine children born to Willie and Mary Wimberly.
In the early 1950s, she was assigned as a clerk typist at Fourth Air Force headquarters, Hamilton Air Force Base, California. There, she met and married her husband, Robert.
Doreather spent more than 20 years as a medical caregiver. Initially, a Nurse’s Aide, she completed a certification program and became a Licensed Practical Nurse, working in northern California nursing homes.
She is survived by her son, Ronald (Mary), granddaughters, Carena, Diana, and Crystal, brother, Granzie, sisters, Florine (Zeke) Jones, Eloise Baldwin, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Doreather will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on March 10, 2008 and a memorial service will be held in Oakland, California during July 2008.
