Dorothy Alair's Obituary
Dorothy Alair passed away on December 19, 2014 at The Johnson Center.
Dorothy was born on September 7, 1917, in Moscow, Idaho. Both of her parents died during the flu epidemic of 1919, and from the age of two Dorothy was raised by her paternal grandparents in Long Beach, California. Dorothy graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of California, Berkley, in 1938. She married her husband Gene in 1943 in San Diego. Dorothy supported Gene throughout his naval career and raised their two children.
The Alairs moved to Falcons Landing in July 1996 from Great Falls, Virginia. Dorothy was one of the founding members of the Chatting Fingers, and was also active in the Book Club.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Gene; their children Douglas and Janet; and grandchildren Anne, Paul and Adrienne.
Services and interment will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Falcon's Landing Benevolent Fund 20522 Falcons Landing Circle, Potomac Falls, VA 20165.
