Dr. Harry G. Geyer's Obituary
Dr. HARRY G. GEYER, 97, of Hamilton, Virginia, died suddenly on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Morningside House in Leesburg. Dr. Geyer was born March 16, 1912 in Grove City, OH to the late Veit and Mary Ranke Geyer. His wife, Helen Louise Davis Geyer and his three brothers also predeceased him. Dr. Geyer graduated from Ohio State University with the class of 1936 and has remained a devout member of the Buckeyes Alumni Family. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII until retiring in 1955 as Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Geyer was the State Veterinarian for Ohio following his military career. He worked with the Food & Drug Administration before retiring from the Department of Agriculture in 1975. Dr. Geyer was a long time resident of Fairfax, Virginia before moving to Hamilton in 1997. He is a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville, VA.
Dr. Geyer is survived by his five children: Richard Geyer (Mary Ellen) of Grove City, OH, Ann Maselli (Bill) of Westerville, OH, Pam Barber of Elizabeth City, NC, Patrick Geyer (Kim) of Dublin, OH and Mike Geyer (Patti) of Hamilton, VA; seven grandchildren: Tom Geyer, Elizabeth Ozuglu, Karen Givens, David Barber, Todd Maselli, Casey Geyer and Tony Saporito; eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 6-8pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg on Sunday December 27th, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 37730 Saint Francis Court, Purcellville, VA on Monday December 28th. Interment will follow in Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, VA.
