Dr. Ram Sira Swamy's Obituary
DR. RAM SIVA SWAMY, 76, of Ashburn, VA since 2000 died on April 18th 2013 in Arlington, VA. Dr. Swamy was born July 25th 1936 in India to the late Dr. Ram Subbarao and Mahalakshmi. He lived in Montreal, Canada prior to moving to Basking Ridge, NJ in 1993. Dr. Swamy was a brilliant man that worked as a scientist in the electrical engineering field with several companies including IIT, Spar Aerospace, Lucent Technologies, Motorola & Sprint/Nextel. He held several trade patens and helped to design the Canadarm that is used on the U.S. International Space Station and is on display at the Air and Space Museum. His great passions in life were War Movies, Planes and his Grandchildren.
Dr. Swamy is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Uma Swamy; a son: Pradeep “Pat” Swamy; a daughter: Dr. Chetana “Anne” Saxena all of Ashburg, VA; three brothers: Dore, Srikant, and Ravi Swamy all of India; six grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, April 22nd 2013 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg. Interment will be held privately at a later date. A celebration of life memorial service will be held _______________________________.
