Duane Vincent Creel's Obituary
Duane Vincent Creel, 59, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on the evening of Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Duane was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Born on September 24,1964 at the Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, he was the son of William ("Ralph") and Margaret Creel. He is preceded in death by his father.
Duane was a 1982 graduate of Loudoun Valley High School, and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He received his degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and his Masters of Business Administration from The George Washington University. As an avid runner, he competed in the Marine Corps Marathon, and the Boston Marathon, amongst several other full and half marathons. He loved to travel internationally, enjoyed a nice glass of wine, and always knew the perfect time to insert a bit of dry humor.
He is survived by his daughter Allison (Ryan) McLatchy; son Andrew Creel; mother Margaret Creel; brother Darryl (Karen) Creel; nieces Anna and Grace Creel; significant other Sum Ming Yau; and many cousins and friends.
The family will be receiving friends to celebrate his life from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
