Ben and I are so sorry to hear of Edith's death. The four of us --Edith,Hal, Ben and me, Nancy --were friends for ovwe 20 years. Edith and Hal brought us to Community Lutheran the first time in 1999. We met after church for lunch from then on. Hal and Ben were golf partners for years--fun golf, not the championship kind--but serious for them. How we will miss both of them.. I thought we would have more time with Edith,and it is shocking how little time we had. We are happy to have one of Hal's painting and one of Edith's too. To members of Edith Symes’ family,

It was my privilege to work closely in Arlington Schools with Hal for several years and I had hoped to have him for a watercolor teacher when I moved to Ashby Ponds. Unfortunately, Hal passed away two weeks after I moved to Ashby Ponds. THEN it became my good fortune to have Edith succeed him as the instructor in the watercolor class. Not only did I appreciate Edith’s skills as an artist and teacher, but I also enjoyed sharing with her stories of our times in Arlington Schools … and hearing her talk about the successes of her children. I am grateful for the time she was part of my life.
