Edith Olga Talley's Obituary
Mrs. Edith O Talley, 87, of Leesburg,Va, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 with loved ones by her side.
One of five children, Edith was born December 14,1923 in Oldenburg, Germany. She was a daughter of the late Friederich Unruh and Margarete Ehlers Unruh.
She was proud to be the wife of Army Officer Lt Col ret James Watson Talley, whom she accompanied to various bases within Germany and the United States. He preceeded her in death in Scottsdale,AZ in December 1994.
After his passing, Mrs Talley was fortunate to travel to and reside with her family in Wilmette,Ill and Leesburg,Va.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Peter Michael Schroebel of Oldenburg,Germany; daughters Manuela Talley-Herrmann of Saarbruecken,Germany, and Corinna Schrankel,MD, of Leesburg,Va; her sisters Gisela Morgner of Pacific Grove,Ca and Gertrud Squibb of Exeter,England. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Stephanie and Catherine Schrankel, and Miriam and Marcus Schroebel.
She was predeceased by brothers Christian and Fritz Unruh.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 2pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, in Leesburg,Va 20175.
Graveside services and interment will be held at a later date at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix,Az.
