Eduardo Jose Ricart's Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of EDUARDO JOSE RICART, 66 of Leesburg, Virginia, on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
Eduardo was born on Thursday, November 7, 1957, in Havana, Cuba to the late Octavio Ricart and Olga Mendez-Capote. He was the husband of KATHERINE KILLINGSWORTH RICART, and a member of Saint John the Apostle Catholic Church.
Eduardo leaves many to cherish his memory including his loving wife of 42 years, Katherine Killingsworth Ricart; sons, Edward Ricart (Melanie) and Alexander Ricart (Amelia Pieti); grandson, Jacob Blatz; granddaughter, Ciaran Ricart; brother, Octavio Ricart (Lynn); and brother-in-law, Michael Killingsworth. Eduardo was predeceased by his mother and father; brother-in-law, Jeffery Killingsworth (Cheryl); mother-in-law, Dora Ann Killingsworth; and father-in-law, Monte Killingsworth.
Eduardo began his career as a US Army Commissioned Officer in 1979, where he served as Commander, Platoon Leader, and Company Executive Officer in the Special Forces (3rd Btn, 7th SFG) and 101st Airborne Division.
A Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 10 at 12:00 PM, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church: 101 Oak Crest Manor Drive Leesburg, Virginia 20176, with the Father Edouard Guilloux officiating. Interment will be in SAINT JOHN THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CEMETERY, Leesburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be Made in Eduardo’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
