Edward Beirne's Obituary
Edward Beirne, 93, of Potomac Falls, VA, died on Sunday, November 30, 2008 in Leesburg, VA. Mr. Beirne was born on Jan. 5, 1915 in Port Jervis, NY. The last surviving child of five children of the late Edward John Beirne and the late Lucinda Marian Gordon Beirne. Edward was a grandson of Jervis Gordon owner of the Jervis Gordon Grist Mill, Milford, PA.
He served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII having served in Thionville, France .
He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1934 through 1939 in Idaho and worked as a hostler and retired from the Erie Railroad in 1977.
He was predeceased by his wife, in 1982, Margaret Bridget McKeon Beirne.
He is survived by his son Thomas E. Beirne and his wife Evelyn of Wappingers Falls, NY, and his daughter: Eileen and her husband Robert L. DeConnick, II of Potomac Falls; four grandchildren Kim Savino, Adam Drieth, Thomas Beirne and Kelly Beirne, four great grandchildren Christopher Savino, Jr., Sierra Savino, Paige Rose, Riya Rose and Austin Perhune; a special nephew: Michael Beirne and his wife Joyce of Milford, PA and great nieces: Stephanie and Katherine Beirne.
Funeral services and interment will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Jervis, NY.
