EDWARD MELE's Obituary
Edward Vincent Mele, father to Jessica (Chris) and Janette (Kyle), grandfather to Cassidy, Gabe, Livie, Maddie, Marlowe and Grey, dear friend and talented musician, died on Friday, September 30, 2022.
Larger than life, Ed could ignite a room with laughter. He loved to travel, had a life-long love affair with the blues and was an incredible provider.
He had a habit of telling the same inappropriate jokes over and over. He was a walking encyclopedia, with an astonishing amount of random knowledge on a huge variety of topics. Mentor to countless musicians, as a host of the Sunday Blues Jam, his legacy will continue to live on through the music.
Born and raised in New Jersey, he traveled the country as a master electrician, in the field for over 50 years. Mostly self-employed throughout that time, he spent the last fifteen years working government contracts in Northern Virginia and DC, traveling to Kabul, East Timor and abroad.
Ed will be missed by his partner, Zhanna, his brother, Vince sister Kitt and former wife Nancy. He has been reunited with his mother, Patricia, father, Vincent and sisters, Michelle and Patty.
Rest easy, Hoochie Coochie Man.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 3 to 5 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Children’s Music Fund at
