Elberta Winfred Dickens' Obituary
Elberta W. Dickens, 88 of Leesburg, died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Loudoun Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 22, 1917 in Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar G. Dickens, Sr. and son Carl L. Dickens. Survivors include Edger G. and wife Mary of Winchester, John W. and wife Pat of Harrisonburg, Carol Lux of Manassas, Edna Myers and husband Earskon of Brunswick. Also surviving are eight grand children and nine great grandchildren.
Elberta was an active member of Leesburg Baptist church for over fifty years. She was recognized as the Distinguished Member of the year in 1990 for her faithful service. She was active in Women’s Missionary Union and Class Circle Meetings.
The family will receive friends at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA on Thursday, 6 to 8 pm. Services are Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA. Pallbearers will be James Dickens, David Knox, Blake Myers, Brad Shiflett, Jack Evans, and Bill Haun.
