Eleanor Jean Edwards' Obituary
Eleanor Jean Edwards was born to Wilma Jean Rodgers and John Sharrod on June 18, 1943 in Jackson, Michigan. Eleanor was 1 of 12 children and the eldest daughter, she was no stranger to responsibility for her brothers and sisters. Eleanor graduated from Jackson High School and went on to Lansing Community College for her Associates Degree in Business. Eleanor was blessed with a baby girl that she named Dawn Marie in May of 1965, for whom was her pride and joy. There is so much that happened between those two dates and there is simply no way I could possibly reiterate the life Eleanor led in a single speech. But I’m going to do my very best, because this is Miss Daisy that we’re talking about.
Miss Eleanor was married to Roosevelt Verser Jr. in 1987 and had a loving marriage until the lord called him home. Miss Daisy lived life to the fullest and wasn’t afraid of showing the world who she was. She was on the 73rd WIBC Championship Tournament Bowling team in Lansing Michigan. She also loved to roller skate and had a flare for fashion, making her own clothing.
She had a passion for the culinary arts with her recipes and kitchen gadgets. Her favorite food was macaroni and cheese.
Miss Eleanor had a voice that could sooth any situation. She said what she meant and meant what she said.I believe she gave people a better sense of self. The “jewels” that she dropped whether one-on-one or in a group, to do with what you may, praying for you at the same time, she had your attention and till this day I’m pretty sure you can hear her voice in her own words that were meant just for you! A monarch in her own right.Daisy had power!
The lord took Miss Eleanor home on January 15, 2023. She leaves behind her Daughter, Dawn Edwards-Wills, Brothers, John Sherrod, Matthew Sherrod, Roger Sherrod, David Sherrod, Patrick Sherrod, Russel Sherrod, Sisters, Linda Sherrod, Ruth Sherrod, Kathy Darden, Virginia Sherrod, and Larissa Thompson, a host of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. All of our lives haves changed just to know you. You will always be missed and loved.
