ELISE VICKERS MCCORMICK
Elise Vickers McCormick, a writer for the Saturday Evening Post and a Washington newspaper columnist for the Knight Syndicate during the late nineteen forties and the nineteen fifties, died Friday (February 17) of congestive heart failure in Leesburg, Va. She was 84 years old. Born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Mrs. McCormick was married (1937-1956) to Hugh Morrow, a magazine editor who later became a chief aide to New York Governor and later Vice President Nelson Rockefeller. She was later married (1959-1973) to Robert H. McCormick Jr., a Chicago real estate developer. Mrs. McCormick leaves six children---Hugh Morrow III, of Great Falls, Va.; Lance Morrow, of Chatham, N.Y.; Patrick Morrow, of Berkeley, Calif.; Dr. Cathleen Morrow, of Sidney, Maine; Christina Morrow Curtis, of Hartland, Vt., and Matthew McCormick, of Otsego, Mich. A seventh child, Michael Morrow, died in 1968. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The family announced that a memorial service will be held in the spring.
