Elizabeth Sue Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth “Sue” Smith passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Inova Loudoun Hospital surrounded by family.
A lifelong resident of Loudoun County, Sue was born on March 26, 1924, in Ashburn, Virginia. She was a daughter of the late Henry Muse and Sara Elizabeth Horsman. She was a true matriarch and a loving and dedicated wife, Mama, Nanny, and friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband and darlin’ of 68 years, George “Buck” Smith of Ashburn, Virginia. Sue is also survived by her three devoted children and their spouses; Butch and Linda Smith of Leesburg, Virginia, Judy and Mike Pearson of Ashburn, Virginia, Chuck and Jackie Smith of Ashburn, Virginia. She also leaves a sister, Nancy Solomon of Ashburn; a brother, Jack Horsman of Chester, Virginia. She will be forever loved by her nine grandchildren: Brian, Bradley, J.D., Dean, and Paige Smith, Shelly McCullers, Lauren Murphy, and Todd and Eric Pearson; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a grandson, Christopher Pearson, and two brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends may call on Sunday December 18, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
Funeral services will follow on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10 am at the funeral home.
Interment will be held in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia.
