Ellen Holtgren's Obituary
Ellen Howie Holtgren, 87, of Sterling, VA, died Tuesday, April 1st, 2008, in Chevy Chase, MD. Ellen was born July 27th, 1920 in Clydebank, Scotland. She was the daughter of late Samuel McKain and Mary Howie. Ellen originally from Scottland spent over 40 years in Landover, MD and spent the last 6 years in Sterling, VA.
She is survived by her husband Captain Wallin Dodd Holtgren of Sterling, VA.
Her son Walter Dodd Holtgren and wife Kimberly of Crofton, MD. Her daughter Pamela Mary Holtgren of Sterling. VA. Also survived by her two Sisters, Agnes Baxter of South Carolina and May Isaac of Vermont; She also survived by her two grandchildren, Klye McKain Holtgren and Kerra Morgan Holtgren.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE 20175 Leesburg, VA.
A celebration of her life service will be held at Capital Yacht Charters at 1pm on April 20th, 2008, located at Yacht Basin No. 1, Washington Marina, 1300 Maine Ave., SW in DC. There will also be a graveside service at 1pm on April 22nd, 2008 at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellen’s memory to the Heartland Hospice Network at 4805 Benson Ave, Baltimore, MD 21227.
