Ellen Mary Jane McGovern, 79, of Ashburn, Virginia, January 12, 2017.
Born Elena Maria Giovanna Piazza in Brooklyn, NY, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Francis and her son John Andrew. MJ leaves her son, Charles (Mary) of Williamsburg; her daughter, Elissa (Stephen) of Arlington; a brother, William Piazza of Scottsdale, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Tom, Emily, Grace, and Nat; and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
A mass for Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 18, at 10 am, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Ashburn, VA.
She will be laid to rest in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Defenders of Wildlife.
