Elmer Clifton Russell's Obituary
Elmer Clifton Russell, 84, of Tranquility at Frederick Town, Maryland since 2009, formerly of Brunswick, Maryland since 1961, died on Thursday, June 17th 2010 in Frederick, Maryland. Mr. Russell was born April 3rd 1926 in Taylorstown, VA to the late William Thomas and Molly Russell. His wife Mary Lou Russell predeceased him in 2007. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the 2nd Armored Division under the direction of General Patton. Mr. Russell worked at the National Institution of Health as a lab tech for 33 before retiring in 1977. After retirement he worked at Charles Town Race Track as a cashier from 1983-1992. He was a sports enthusiast and an avid horse lover.
Mr. Russell is survived by his four children: Donna Russell of Chesapeake, VA, Dawn Russell Federline (George) of Walkersville, MD, Jason Russell (Mary) of Harpers Ferry, WV, Dale Russell (Wanda) of Middletown, MD; one brother: Karl E. “Gene” Russell (Elizabeth) of Paeonian Springs, VA; two grandchildren: Stacey and Erik; two great grandchildren: Keegan Russell and Connor Clifton Russell;two step great grandchildren: Cody Lee Johnson and Michael Frances Endicott; a special friend: Becky Blosser of Frederick, MD and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call on Monday, June 21st 2010 at the Brown- Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 34 East Broad Way, Lovettsville, VA from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 22nd at 1:00pm. Interment will be in Lovettsville Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA.
