Elton Linwood Shumaker's Obituary
ELTON LINWOOD SHUMAKER, 79, a resident of Walkersville, Maryland since the 1960’s, died on Tuesday November 18, 2008 in Walkersville, Maryland. Mr. Shumaker was born March 23, 1929 in Lovettsville, Virginia to the late Elbert M. and Leila Coffman Shumaker. A brother, three sisters and a stepson Tommy Thompson also predeceased him. Mr. Shumaker was raised in Lovettsville and served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He retired as a supervisor with the Montgomery County Board of Education after 35 years.
Mr. Shumaker is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Mrs. Dorothy A. Shumaker of Walkersville, MD; three daughters: Darlene Spangler of Smithsburg, MD, Judy Kline of Dillsburg, PA, Lori Maller of Ashburn, VA; one brother: Howard Shumaker of Frederick, MD; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Brown/Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 34 East Broad Way, Lovettsville, VA on Thursday November 20, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Friday November 21 at 1:00pm with Rev. Roland England officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lovettsville, Virginia.
