E. Mason Solomon's Obituary
Emory Mason Solomon, age 87 passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011 at his home in Ashburn, Virginia.
Life-long of Ashburn, Mason was born Friday, February 8, 1924. He was a son of the late Charles L. Solomon and the late Daisy Blundell Solomon.
Mason was a dairy farmer on his family farm until its sale in 1968. He then went to work as a Lab Technician with Hazelton Laboratory until retiring in 1989.
He was foremost a loving husband, Dad, and Grandfather, who enjoyed woodworking, and sports, especially baseball.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Nancy Lee Horsman Solomon of Ashburn, his son, Edward Mason Solomon and his wife Joyce of Ashburn, VA, his daughter, Mary Kathryn Gilliam and her husband James of Ashburn, VA. He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Byrne of Berryville, VA and Mae Peacock of Ashburn, VA; 5 grandchildren Matthew Mason Solomon, Michael E. Solomon, Sara E. Gilliam, Caitlin M. Solomon, and James T. Gilliam, and his God daughter Susie Payne of Stephen City, VA.
He was predeceased by a daughter Linda Marie, and son Stephen Lester Solomon.
Friends may call on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 pm, at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
Interment will follow in Leesburg Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
