Erin Marie Dennington's Obituary
Erin Marie Dennington, 30, of Centreville, VA, Associate Editor of Tax Analysts a non-profit publisher of tax information, passed away suddenly from an Asthma attack on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
Erin was born on October 25, 1979 in Houston, TX. She is the daughter of John and Sharon Dennington of South Riding, VA. Erin was a graduate of George Mason University in 2002. While in college, she worked for and volunteered with Chantilly Public Library, and enjoyed ushering at Wolf Trap. As a youth she enjoyed playing softball for eight years on a SYA team in Centreville, VA where she was known by the nickname of "Hammerin' Hank" by opposing teams for her astounding homerun power.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers, Sean Kenneth Dennington and his wife Claudia Vanessa of Sterling, and James Kenneth Lee Dennington of South Riding; her paternal grandparents: Kenneth and Joan Dennington of The Villages, FL; her god mother: Susan T. Kennedy of Deerfield, IL; 1 nephew: Sean Kenneth, Jr.; her boy friend: Josh Yerby of Centreville, and best friend: Stuart Jones of Miami, FL.
Erin was predeceased by her maternal grandparents: Stanley and Mildred Christenson and her godfather: Edward O. Kennedy.
Friends may call on Friday, May 14, 2010, where the family will receive guests from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday morning May 15, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 231 North King Street, Leesburg, VA 20175.
Interment will be held privately at a later date.
Erin suffered from brutal migraines. She was a gifted and published writer of poetry, where she found brief periods of relief from debilitating episodes of depression.
Erin's generous spirit lives on through organ and tissue donation.
