Our heartfelty sympathies go out to Betty and her family. Jr was a good friend to my in laws and also showed our daughter a thing or two on the piano. He will be remembered for his smile, his coming to Richards for the NY paper and many other things. RIP Jr

I was heartbroken to learn of the passing of Ernest and send my heartfelt condolences to the family. I met Ernest about thirty years ago when I played music at the "Connection". He has been my best friend since then.
We both had a love and passion for playing the Keyboard and often played them together at events. I remember so clearly when we played New Years Eve at the Connection and Lisa sang with us. These are lasting memories.
He was the nicest and kindest person I have ever known. I have several of his recordings which I will treasure throughout my lifetime.
I know there is a keyboard in Heaven for him and if you really listen closely, you'll hear his songs.
Every day I speak to all my deceased family members and friends and have now added Ernest to this list. I look up in the sky and say.."Play me a song Smitty.. Play me a song."

ernest was a really good friend to Mary Eleanor and I. I play the CD he gave me all the time. We did not get our drink of scotch, maybe GOD has one. I will miss him. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. god bless The other Gordon Smith
