Eugene Zucker's Obituary
OBITUARY INFORMATION
Col. EUGENE MAYER ZUCKER USAF Ret., 78, died on Saturday January 14, 2006 at his home in Leesburg.
His beloved wife survives Mr. Zucker: Joyce Geasey Zucker of Leesburg, Va; four children: Lorraine F. Darr of Marco Island, Florida, Brian L. Flores of Washington, D.C., Anthony “Tony” Zucker of Winchester, Va., Sheryl Duncan of Mt. Dora, Florida; three step-children: David L. Broyhill of Salem, Ohio, James L. Broyhill and Joel H. Broyhill both of Ashburn, Va.; one sister Ruth A. Levine of West Palm Beach, Florida; thirteen grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. One stepdaughter, Judi Broyhill Harris predeceased him in 2000.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle S.E., Leesburg, Virginia on Thursday, January 19, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Friday, January 20, 2006 at the Leesburg United Methodist Church, 107 West Market St., Leesburg, Virginia with Dr. G. Keith Almond officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be held at 3:00pm on Friday February 10,2006 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. Those that wish to attend should arrive at the cemetery administration building by 2:30pm.
Mr. Zucker was born in New York, on May 23, 1927 to the late Abraham and Asya Wexler Zucker. He served his country during WWII in the Army/Air Corp and Retired as Colonel from the U.S. Air Force reserves in 1982. He also worked as a program analyst for 32 years with the Federal Government. Mr. Zucker was the ICM Chaplain for Sunrise of Leesburg from 1998 until present, a brethren in the Harmony Chorus, a member of Gideon’s International and the Leesburg United Methodist Church. He was a member of AFCEA- Armed Forces Communication & Electronic Association, ROA- Retired Officers Association, and life member of the Reserved Officer Association. Mr. Zucker lived in McLean, Virginia before moving to Leesburg in 1998.
