Evelyn Odessia Young's Obituary
EVELYN ODESSIA YOUNG, 79, of Reston, Virginia, formerly of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on August 28th 2011 in Arlington, Virginia. Mrs. Young was born February 22, 1932 in Floris, Virginia to the late Frank and Bessie Lucus Harris. Mrs. Young enjoyed taking part in her church. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in McLean, Virginia before joining First Mt. Olive Baptist in Leesburg. While a member at First Mt. Olive she served on the Deaconess Board, Senior Choir, the Missions Society, on the Kitchen Committee and served as chairman of the Beautification Committee.
Mrs. Young is survived by her loving husband of 48 years: William T. Young of Reston; three children: Doris E. Ellis (Joseph M. Sr.) of Vienna, Floyd A. Hunter, Jr. (Cynthia) of Reston, William T. Young, II of Reston; three sisters: Vergie Barbour of Chantilly, VA, Josephine Offer of Fredericksburg, VA, Lillian Newman of Fairfax City, VA; a granddaughter: Teresa M. Kargbo of Vienna and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call on Monday, September 5th 2011 at the First Mount Olive Baptist Church, 216 Loudoun Street SW in Leesburg from 7-9 PM. Funeral services will follow at the church on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church, Virginia.
