Fernando L. Thompson Sr.'s Obituary
Fernando L. Thompson of Leesburg, VA passed away on March 8th, 2024, at 53 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his untimely passing. Fernando, affectionately known amongst family and friends as Manno, was born May 17th, 1970, in Burkesville, VA. Though he grew up in West Chester, PA he spent all his adult years in Virginia, where he later met his wife, Vanessa and became a stepfather to Jasmine. Vanessa and Fernando later had two sons, Fernando Jr., and Jordan.
Without a doubt, his favorite titles were Husband and Father…oh, I’d be remiss to forget, a devoted Cowboys fan. Growing up, Fernando was your typical boy – he liked to play outside, to rough house, and to hang out with his friends. He developed a love for sports at an early age, such as wrestling, football, and basketball.
Fernando is preceded in death by his father - Franklin Thompson Sr., mother - Ann Thompson Molina, stepfather - Hector Molina, brother - Charles Thompson, brother-in-law - Robert Thomas, and sister - Marquita Molina.
He is survived by:
-Wife, Vanessa, and sons Fernando Jr. and Jordan.
-Siblings: Robin Irby, Franklin Thompson Jr., Angela Thomas, Lorraine Askew, Toni Thompson, Doreen Martin, Zorraine Grier, Danielle Thompson, Julena Clowser, Hector Molina-Bowles, and Longstar Molina.
-Sister/Brother in Laws: Joseph Nelson, Christine Thompson, Merle Askew Jr., Howard Martin, George Grier, Dennis Clowser, Jason Molina-Bowles.
-Close family friends: Delfin Murphy, Abel Yambo, Joshua Biehl, and a host of aunts/uncles, cousins, and nieces/nephews.
Though it is a difficult time, I can confidently say those who knew Manno possess enough heartwarming memories to last a lifetime. He will truly be missed.
