Floyd Alvarez Jr. 's Obituary
Floyd Alvarez Jr. of Brambleton,VA, departed this life on 24 February 2018 after a short but valiant battle with lung cancer. Floyd was born in Youngstown, OH on 13 September 1940 to Floyd Alvarez Sr. and Angela Garcia. Floyd’s younger brother Robert was born in 1946. Floyd spent his formative years in Youngstown, OH until 7 August 1961 when he traveled to Parris Island, SC on his journey to become a United States Marine. He would go onto serve in the Marines until 6 August 1965. During his time as an active duty Marine, he married the love of his life, Catherine Anne Parascenzo of Aliquippa, PA. on 28 April 1962. That same year, they welcomed into the world the first of their four children, Michelle Princess. Their second child Scott, was born in 1964. Their third child Catherine Anne was born in 1967 and their fourth child Geoffrey Sean in 1970.
Upon completion of his Marine Corp service, Floyd entered on duty with the Central Intelligence Agency where he would spend the next 30 years in a myriad of positions in support of the CIA and the United States Government. Floyd retired from active service to the CIA on 31 October 1994. After taking one day off, Floyd became a corporate patriot serving as a contractor working on various efforts for the National Reconnaissance Office. Floyd finally retired for good in October 2004. For all his accomplishments, Floyd was most proud of his grand children Bailey, Sam, Emily, Jacob and Joseph.
