Frances Margaret Depaula-Nalbandian-Schroeder's Obituary
On September 1, 2020, Frances (“Fran”) Margaret DePaula–Nalbandian–Schroeder passed away due to complications from a stroke she suffered on June 17, 2020. Fran was born on July 24, 1941, in Nutley, New Jersey, to Sam and Henrietta DePaula. She is preceded in death by her son, Terry Mark Nalbandian; and survived by her sons Raymond (“Ray”) Nalbandian, William (“Billy”) Joseph Schroeder, Jr., daughter-in-law Rachelle Graves Schroeder, and grandchildren Will, Davis, and Catherine.
Fran moved from Manassas, Virginia, to Leesburg in 2009 to be near her son, Billy, and his family. She led an active lifestyle while living at the Madison House apartments, befriending everyone in the apartment complex with her spirit of generosity. She continued working at The Barber Shop in Manassas on a part-time basis until the COVID-19 pandemic required the business to close temporarily in March 2020, at which time she opted to retire. Fran was a very loving mother and grandmother, and a devoted friend. She was adored by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. The service will be held at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia, on Friday, September 4, 2020. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service officiated by Father Thomas Cavanaugh of St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Leesburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (105 E Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia 20176), or Loudoun Hunger Relief (750 Miller Drive, SE, Leesburg, Virginia 20175).
