Frances Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Smith, 85, of Leesburg, Virginia, died Friday, June 30, 2006, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA.
Born on March 17, 1921 in Shivers, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Shivers and the late Fannie (Meyers) Shivers.
Mrs. Smith moved to Loudoun in 1968. She worked for Loudoun County Public schools as a teacher at Catoctin Elementary and retiring with Meadowlands Elementary. Mrs. Smith was also the organist with Leesburg Baptist Church for 25 years and taught piano lessons privately.
She was wife of the late Edward Edgar Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances Elizabeth"Beth" and her husband Robert Cooke of Vienna, VA, and her Son, Edward Egan Smith and his wife Anne Gandsey of Oakland, CA, and three granddaughters, Taylor, and Rachel Cooke and Grayson Smith.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE 20175 Leesburg, Virginia, where the family will receive friends on Sunday July 2, 2006 from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Leesburg Baptist Church on Monday July 3, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. on 835 Lee Avenue, Leesburg, VA. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, Virginia.
