Mr. Fera was my first real job boss. Graduated from college, first year teaching, he was dean. Hard year for me to be sure. Mr. Fera was kind, always available, and encouraging. I did not return for a second year, newly pregnant with first child. 12+ years later that child has Mr. Fera for a principal!
I hope he knew how positively influential he was in so many people's lives.

So sorry for the loss of a great and funny man. He loved the area, nature, tennis and Peggy and the family. Such a loss. My prayers are with all at this time. He can now make another place better with his smile.

I remember Rockie as a great comrade and collaborator and friend as our careers were closely linked over the years with LCPS. Rockie and I shared so many ideas and projects, kept each other posted as to "what was happening", and were close friends. I doubt a week would go by that we weren't engaged in some conversation or meeting. His outgoing nature and his enthusiasm made him an outstanding leader, and more importantly, a trusted friend. He truly was one of the greatest guys I've ever known. He was always dependable and supportive...indeed "A Rock" in our foundation of friends. He enriched his students, his friends, the schools he served, his church and his community! We thank God he was part of our lives. Peggy, I know that you and the children and grandkids are celebrating his life, and that though he will be missed, we know he will always be with us. God bless all of you. I'm sorry I just learned of his passing, but my thoughts are with you!

Rockie was a great guy to know. Growing up in Del Ray i was fortunate to have him as a friend. I have nothing but fond memories of him and his family. They were always friendly to me and anyone else that had interaction with them. Rest In Peace.
My first teaching position was at Sugarland Elementary. I know way back in the day. I was so thrilled to get this position and very soon I came to realized that I also had the icing on my cake with this wonderful principle, Mr. Fera! For a teacher just starting her career who could have ask for a better mentor! He was just a wonderful person! He touched so many people's lives in a positive way! He was a God sent and I am honored that God chose to bring him into my life. Some people you meet will leave a lasting impression on your life, well he did!

I attended Jefferson Middle School in Alexandria in 1963. I had Mr. Fera for what was termed "modern math" back then. He was a wonderful teacher and my all time favorite. RIP Mr. Fera.
I had Mr. Fera for pre-Algebra in 8th grade. Had such a crush on him. He was a cutie! I was not the strongest math student, and he was extremely patient with me.

I remember Dr FERA from my days on the PTA at Harper Park middle school. He was warm and kind and an amazing administrator. We kept in touch at Christmas time for a few years after our move to Alabama and he always had encouraging words. Sorry to hear of his passing. He will be sorely missed.
