Franklin Hunter Jewell's Obituary
Franklin Hunter Jewell, 63 of Leesburg, VA died on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at INOVA Loudoun Hospital Center in Lansdowne, VA.
Frank was born Thursday, May 19, 1949 in Leesburg, VA. He was a son of the late Wilbur Hunter Jewell and Janet Louise Myers Jewell. Frank was a native of Loudoun County and a graduate of Loudoun Valley High School. He had a passion for baseball and was an all-star pitcher for Valley. Frank proudly served his country in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He attended Brevard College and was employed in the construction industry for over 25 years. His last position was Director of Construction with Artisan Builders (formerly Yeonas & Ellis).
Frank’s many hobbies included being an avid golfer and he was a fan of the Redskins and Nationals.
Mr. Jewell leaves to cherish his mom, Janet Myers Jewell of Waterford, VA; his beloved wife Diane Pierce Jewell of Leesburg, his only daughter, Kristin Jewell and son-in-law, Jean D'Amico of Atlanta, GA, sister, Debbie Kane of Waterford, VA, brother, Mike Jewell of Waterford, VA, and one grandson Maxwell Pierce D’Amico.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, Dec. 30, from 2 to 5pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel
located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
A Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. David A. Douthett officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
