Fred George Wright's Obituary
FRED G. WRIGHT, 81, of Ashburn, VA died unexpectedly at home on August 31, 2022. He was born August 3,1941 in Abington, PA, to loving parents Fred W. And Naomi (Cummings) Wright.
Fred graduated from Episcopal Academy before majoring in Science at Gettysburg College. He travelled several times to Europe before working at various pharmaceutical companies in Philadelphia, PA. He married Pamela Whittaker and relocated to Ocean City, NJ. They celebrated 48 years of marriage in April. When the long commute to Philadelphia became too much with a young growing family, Fred switched careers and began working at Wheaton Scientific in Millville, NJ. After surviving a bout with cancer, he utilized his education and work experience to start his own business called Wright & Wright. He and his wife moved to Ashburn, VA in late September 2009.
Fred was predeceased by his parents. In addition to his wife, Pamela (Whittaker) Wright, he is survived by his son, Jeffrey and his wife, Andrea, and their children, Jennifer, Michael, and Sean of Ashburn, VA; his son, Christopher and his wife, Jamie, and their children, Skye and Isaiah of San Antonio, TX; his son, Andrew and his wife, Clare, of Alexandria, VA; his sister, Susan and her husband, Craig Matthiessen of Burke, VA; a niece and two nephews.
The immediate family is planning a private gathering to celebrate Fred’s life. At a time yet to be determined, his family will travel to Cape May Point, NJ to spread Fred’s ashes on the beach where he spent many happy teenage summers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the American Cancer Society.
