Frederick Humphreys Wertz's Obituary
Frederick Humphreys Wertz, 78, of Leesburg, Virginia, formerly of Sparta, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013.
Fred was born on August 20, 1935 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Russell Wertz and the late Margaret Humphreys Wertz.
He served his country in the United States Army Reserves and was employed as a sales representative in commercial building products. He had a passion for steam locomotives and was a long-time advocate of passenger and freight rail service.
Mr. Wertz was predeceased by his wife Joyce A. Wertz in February of 2012.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters and their spouses: Sheryl and Charles Torrance of Leesburg, VA and Pamela and Tibor Deak of San Diego, CA and seven grandchildren.
Interment will be held at a later date in Pretty Prairie, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Fred’s memory to Heritage Hall – Leesburg, 122 Morven Park Rd., N.W., Leesburg, VA 20176.
