Gailyn Nocente's Obituary
Mrs. Gailyn Y. Nocente, age 81, of Leesburg, VA passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 in Falls Church, VA.
Gailyn was born Thursday, September 18, 1930 in Grand Island, NE to the late Raymond Barnard and the late Leona Campbell Barnard. Her husband of over 55 years, Fred J. Nocente also predeceased her in April 2011.
Gailyn spent her younger years in California before moving east. She lived in the Washington Metropolitan Area most of her life and worked at the Naval Research Lab for many years before retiring in 1987.
Mrs. Nocente will be fondly remembered for her loving and caring ways as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mrs. Nocente is survived by her beloved four children: Laura Arnold of Hartly, DE, Douglas Nocente of Winston Salem, NC, Mark Nocente of Leesburg, VA and Steven Nocente of Dunkirk, MD; two brothers: Ron Barnard of Meadow Vista, CA, Jerry Barnard of Fresno, CA; halfsister: Linda Crocker of Omaha, NE; seven grandchildren: Matthew, Chris, Phillip, Jerry, Julia, Shannon, Jonathan; one great grandchild: Keely and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 30th 2012 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg, VA. Interment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1025 Connecticut Ave. NW, Suite 5, Washington, DC 20036.
