Gale Frances Nichols' Obituary
Mrs. Gale Frances Nichols, 71 of Lansdowne, Virginia passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011, at INOVA Loudoun Hospital Center in Lansdowne, Virginia.
Gale was born Thursday, October 3, 1940 in Woodbury, New Jersey. She was a daughter of the late Aldoph William Engler, Sr. and the late Frances Viola Jordan Evans. She was the wife of the late Samuel Irving Nichols, Jr.
She worked as an administrative assistant in the Fairfax Co. and Loudoun Co. public school systems and as a caseworker for the Washington Co. (MD) Department of Social Services. She finished her career at Cool Springs Elementary in Leesburg, VA. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, VA.
Gale is survived by her four adult children, David William Nichols of Alexandria, VA and wife Cheryl, Suzanne Mary Antkowiak of Crownsville, MD and husband Ben, James Thomas Nichols of Leesburg, VA and wife Jessie and Samuel Joseph Nichols of Catonsville, MD and girlfriend Kristen Risch and six grandchildren: Alexandra (12), Hunter (10), Erica (8) and Jenna (1) Nichols and Brian (14) and Erin (11) Risch.
She is also survived by her brother Bill Engler of Williamstown, NJ and his wife Judy, and sister MaryLou Karkuff of Woodbury, NJ.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 231 North King Street Leesburg, Virginia 20175 with the Father Francis Peffley officiating. Internment will follow in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
