Garrett Maxwell Kranias' Obituary
It is with profound sadness that his family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of GARRETT MAXWELL KRANIAS, 33, of Purcellville, Virginia. Garrett passed away in his sleep early on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Born on October 13, 1992, at Loudoun Memorial Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia, Garrett grew up in Purcellville and graduated from Loudoun County High School in 2011. Always athletic, he played several sports growing up and in high school, including football, basketball, and soccer. He also participated in ROTC at County. His major sports love always was the Washington Redskins. He eventually even forgave them for changing their name.
After high school, he attended Virginia State University and Radford university for two years then returned home to work in the chimney repair business. In 2017, using his experience in this field, he started his own company, DMV Chimney & Masonry Repair Company, which he operated until his death.
Surviving him and cherishing his memory are his beloved wife, Caitlin Morgan Kranias, and his five beautiful children: Aden (7), Elijah (5), Aria (4), Ezekiel (2) and Isaac (two months). He also leaves his father, Andreas Krainias, of Glen Burnie MD; his mother, Kimberly Kelly Grant, and stepfather, Allen James Grant, of Purcellville; his sister and brother-in-law, Jasmine Kelly-Symonds and Shane Symonds of Purcellville; his nieces London and Laynah Kelly and nephew Lincoln Symonds; his maternal grandmother, Sheila Kelly of Purcellville; his uncle, Joseph Michael Kelly of Sterling; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betsy and Jim Morgan of Charleston, SC; his uncle and aunt, Mike and Athena Kranias; his aunt, Daphney Kelly and of Glen Bernie, MD; his cousin, Nicole Steward and her husband, Jamie, along with their daughter Nija, and son Mekha of Atlanta, GA; plus numerous friends.
A celebration of Garrett’s life will be held at 10 am on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Cornerstone Chapel - Ministry Building - 541 Tolbert Lane, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
Interment will be held on a date to be announced later.
