The last time I saw Gary was at the Citadel. I had come there for a rifle team match and I looked him up. There's a story to tell with the visit to barracks which I won't go into but we got a big laugh out of what happened. Had missed seeing him at our RMA 45th reunion. I think I showed up just in hopes of seeing Gary. I think he left early and I got there too late. He was a great guy and a good friend back in the old days at Front Royal. Rest in peace.

Gary and I went through Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola together, then shared a room during primary flight training. As I recall, Gary would listen to the Beatles just about every night while we studied. I have thought of him often over the years.
