I was very sorry to read about Mr. Pesch. When my family and I think about Molasses pond we automatically think about seeing Mr. Pesch. We all loved his sense of humor and his kindness.

Uncle John and Aunt Gloria were very special members of our family. For years they made their summer camp on Chemo Pond available to the rest of the family so that we could escape New York City. Gen. Pesch was a mentor and a friend. I joined the Maine Air National Guard out of Pilot Training when Gen. Tukey was the 101st Wing Commander. I've known and admired Gen. John from the day I met him at the Wing. I flew with his son John, and find Gen. Pesch's passing to mark the closing of an era for both the Maine Air Guard, the National Guard and the United States Air Force. A great patriot, a remarkable aviator, wonderful cook and an inspiration to all.
