Geoffrey Lance Burleson's Obituary
Geoffrey Lance Burleson, 35, of Ashburn, VA, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.
He was born on August 24, 1980 in Tuscon, AZ. He was the son of David Burleson and Judy Winkler who both survive him. He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Chester Campbell and Ned Burleson.
Geoffrey is survived by his wife Céline Burleson, his daughters Aikaterina Burleson, Jacqueline Burleson and Brylie Burleson; his step-dad Paul Winkler; his sisters, Celeste Burleson, Kelli Wray, Kasondra Winkler; and his brothers Roque Burleson, Jeremiah Burleson, and Micah Burleson. Geoffrey is also survived by his grandmothers Betty Campbell and Mary Burleson as well as hundreds of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews whose lives he touched in his loving way.
He proudly served 12 years in the United States Army. Geoffrey was a Combat Veteran serving 2 tours in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan. He was awarded the Bronze Star and served as a Senior Intelligence Analyst. Geoffrey was equally proud of his academic achievements, earning a Bachelor and Masters degree in International Relations.
His true passion was his wife, daughters, and brothers and sisters in arms, his two Labradors, Beamer and Blondie, and driving BMWs. It was his love of family that he will be most remembered.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
