George Samuel Leisersohn's Obituary
George Samuel Leisersohn, age 63, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Born on August 26, 1957 in Istanbul, Turkey, he was the son of the late Lawrence George Leisersohn and the late Anna Price Leisersohn. He was the beloved husband of 28 years to Kathleen C. Leisersohn and devoted father to Sarah E. Leisersohn and Lawrence (Larry) G. Leisersohn II. He is survived by his loving brother, Walter B. Leisersohn and nephews Cory Leisersohn and George (Chris) Leisersohn, as well as many dear friends.
He grew up in Georgetown and spent some of his childhood years in Athens, Greece. He was a graduate of Landon High School in Bethesda, MD and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He was an avid UNC Tar Heels and San Francisco Giants fan. He also loved vacationing to the Outer Banks with his family each summer. George had a passion for music and enjoyed listening to all genres. He also loved the family dogs, Brandy and Mikey, and treasured his walks around the neighborhood with them.
George was a dedicated employee at Navy Federal Credit Union at the Headquarters location in Vienna, VA for 33 years, where he served as the Manager of the Procurement Branch. During his time at Navy Federal, George fostered many close friendships.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life to be announced later this year.
