Gerald Aloysius Vazzana's Obituary
Gerald Aloysius Vazzana, age 73, died peacefully at home in Leesburg, Virginia with his family at his side on Sunday, November 13, 2011.
Gerald was born January 4, 1938 in Washington, DC. He was a son of the late Hugh David Vazzana and the late Mary Theresa Welsh Vazzana. He was a graduate of Concord College, and received his ME degree from the University of Maryland. Mr. Vazzana was an elementary school teacher in both Maryland and Florida. He was a member of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Middleburg, VA.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Cosgrove Vazzana of Leesburg, VA; sons, Michael Cosgrove and his wife Cheri of Fairfax, VA and Brian Cosgrove and his wife Nghi of Gaithersburg, MD, daughter, Suzanne McGovern and her husband Michael of Alexandria, VA, sisters, Mary Vazzana of Vancouver, BC, and Susanne Vazzana of Louisville, KY; brothers, Michael Vazzana of Easton, MD and Peter Vazzana of Wilsonville, OR; and grandchildren, Michael Cosgrove, Shannon Cosgrove, and Connor McGovern; and over 40 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 17, 2011, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
A Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church located at 23309 Sam Fred Road, Middleburg, VA 20117, with the Father William Schardt officiating.
