Gilberte G. "Jill" Gilbert's Obituary
GILBERTE G. “JILL” GILBERT, 83, passed away on Thursday, April 5th 2012 in Leesburg, Virginia. Mrs. Gilbert was born July 20, 1928 in Wayaux, Belgium to the late Joseph and Camille Charles Turlot. She moved to the United States during 1955. Mrs. Gilbert taught French at Littleton High School in Littleton, MA several years before opening a salon in Westford, MA, Le Chalet De Beaute. In 1982 she and her husband retired to Phoenix, AZ were they lived until 2007. She was active and past president of The Ladies Sodality at Saint Ann’s Parish in Littleton and received an appreciation award from the Governor of AZ for her participation in the Silver Threads. Mrs. Gilbert will was an avid knitter and sewer and for many years enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband.
Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years Francis Xavier Gilbert of Leesburg; and three children; five grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Three siblings predeceased her.
A memorial mass will be held on at 10:00 AM on April 17, 2012 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church (Chapel of the Immaculate Conception), 231 North King Street, Leesburg, VA.
