Glen A. Luna's Obituary
Glen Anthony Luna, devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend, passed away on June 24, 2024. Glen will be best remembered for his quick wit and his big heart.
Glen was born on November 21, 1958, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and always dreamed of retirement on the Gulf Coast. He grew up in Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in business. He discovered his passion for computer programming at a young age, spending most of his career as a software engineer for government contracts.
Glen showed every indication of being a forever bachelor until he met his wife Karen in 1995. Karen stole his heart immediately and they were married April 12, 1997, in Burke, VA. Their son James was born in 2001. He is Glen’s doppelgänger and his pride and joy. They shared a close bond and the same sense of humor. James followed in his father’s career path, graduating from George Mason University last month with a degree in computer science.
With the unwavering support of his family, Glen fought valiantly for the last 6 years against a myriad of health complications, maintaining a positive spirit throughout his struggles. The Luna family is very appreciative of the love and support given by numerous friends and family members who lightened the family’s burden.
Glen was predeceased by his parents James “Jimmy” Luna and Rita (Benton) Luna. Glen is survived by his wife of 27 years, Karen (Cassara) Luna of South Riding, Virginia, his son James of Fredericksburg, VA, numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, Leesburg, VA on Friday June 28 at 7 PM. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, June 29 at 10 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 41677 Corpus Christi Drive, Aldie, VA.
