Glen Perry Cole's Obituary
Glen Perry Cole, 79 of Leesburg, Virginia died on Saturday, February 19, 2011. Glen was born Sunday, July 26, 1931 in Kingsport, Tennessee; he was a son of the late James Milton Cole and the late Pollie Statzer Cole. He was known to many as Donald Duck, for his wonderful impersonations he did of the Disney character. Glen served his country in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954. He was Manager of The Hub Department Store in downtown Leesburg for 27 years. After retiring he also worked for Red Wing Shoes, Kohl’s and Rockport in Leesburg.
Mr. Cole served his local community as well by serving on the Leesburg Town Council from 1972 to 1976. He was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge No.114, AF & AM for almost 49 years. He was a Past Worshipful Master, and Past District Deputy Grand Master.
He was the husband of the late Evelyn Gill Cole who preceded him in death on May 2, of last year. He was also predeceased by a son Glen Perry Cole, Jr. on Sept. 17, 1958, 3 sisters, Hettie Willis, Margaret Bledsoe, Lola Ray Brown, and 3 brothers, Melvin Cole, Carl Cole, and Ballard Cole.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Katrina Cole of Leesburg, VA, his son, Rob Cole & daughter-in-law Angela of Sterling, VA sisters, Mary Dishner of TN, Ruth Lane of VA, Mabel Hensley of TN and Clara Johnson of MI; 3 grandchildren Robert Alexander Cole, Matthew Glen Cole, Lauren Christine, Cole, 4 bonus grand kids, Christine Shipman, Courtney Shipman, Robert Shipman, II, Jennifer Jackson, and 4 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175 with the Rev. Stuart James officiating. The family will receive guests from 1pm until the time of service at 2.
Interment will be held privately at a later date in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
