Gloria A. Geisen's Obituary
Gloria A. Geisen, 94, passed away on March 10, 2016 at the Johnson Center in Sterling, Virginia. Gloria was born February12, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Henry and Maude Doak (Schleembecker). She was raised and educated in Detroit, Michigan. Gloria married Kenneth E. Geisen on February 8, 1947 in Detroit and this union brought two sons Allen and Wayne Geisen. Her family left the Detroit area in 1950 as her husband was called back to active duty in the Air Force as a result of the Korean conflict. Her family moved to Texas, Alaska, Germany and finally to Falls Church, Virginia in 1962 after her husband accepted his last tour of duty at the Pentagon. Gloria loved to socialize and two of her favorite past times were bowling and going to movies with friends. She taught her husband to bowl and they remained active in a mixed bowling league for several years after his retirement. We who knew her will miss her great sense of humor, wonderful laugh and relished her ability to kid us all, if only in fun. Gloria is survived by her sons, Wayne Geisen of Toledo, Ohio; Allen Geisen of Bismarck, North Dakota; two daughter- in- laws, Kristen Keith, Toledo, Ohio and Debbie Geisen, Bismarck, North Dakota. Other survivors include her sister in law, Dolores Geisen; nieces, Holly, Linda, Phyllis, Janice and nephews Danny and David. Gloria’s wonderful neighbors and friends of over 50 years , Betty and Harold Borecky survive her as well. Gloria’s parents, husband, Kenneth, her brother in law, Farrell Geisen, her three sisters, Vesta, Norma and Lucille, and three brothers, Bob, Stanley and Eugene preceded her in death.
