Gloria Mae Jones' Obituary
Gloria Mae Jones, 84, of Arcola, VA passed away on May 19, 2024 in Leesburg, VA surrounded by her family.
Gloria was born at home in Dranesville, VA on April 1, 1940 to the late Benjamin and Mary Robey.
Gloria truly enjoyed being a school bus driver for Loudoun County Public Schools for over 40 years. During many of those years she also worked in the kitchen of the Old Arcola School helping prepare and serve meals to its students and staff. Gloria’s favorite hobbies were flower gardening, sewing and baking. Family and friends looked forward to receiving her gifts of homemade rolls, cinnamon buns, pies and gingerbread men.
Gloria was predeceased by her Husband Joseph Monroe Jones Sr. her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Mary Irene Robey.
She leaves behind her loving family including her children Carolyn (Dude) Moxley of Lovettsville, VA, Joseph (Kathleen) Jones of Winchester, VA and Diane Alkire of Bristow, VA her siblings, Billy Robey, Betty Jane Marr and Gladys Stinson along with 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held from 11:00AM – 12:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel. A service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cir. SE Leesburg, VA 20175.
Gloria will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Gloria’s honor to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
