Grace Naomi Scaife Gumble's Obituary
Mrs. Grace Naomi Scaife-Gumble, 99, formerly of Endicott, N.Y. and presently of Leesburg, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.
Grace was born on April 27, 1914 on the family farm in Barbours, PA to Sarah and Percy Scaife and is one of ten siblings.
Grace had a profound love of God, all people and family, which was the core of her being.
Grace is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Stanley Leroy Gumble, four brothers and three sisters, son-in-law, Kaream Solomon, and a step-grandson, Jonathan Howland.
Grace is survived by son William A. (Sandra) Gumble of Apalachian, NY, daughter, Marilyn J. Solomon of Leesburg, VA, , daughter, Glenda N. (Dean) Howland of Lake George, NY; two sisters Mary Alice (Carl) Lutz of Montoursville, PA and Virginia Jolin of Williamsport, PA; grandchildren, Nadia Solomon, Jihan (John) Thomas, Paul Solomon, Danyan Garcia, and Kyla Garcia; step-grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Bowen, Jake (Nichole) Howland; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Connor and Luke Thomas; step-great-grandchildren, Tyler, Zach and Josh Bowen, McKenna and Sarah Howland.
A Celebration of Life service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Leesburg United Methodist Church, 107 W Market Street Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Gumble’s memory to Leesburg United Methodist Church, Capital Caring Hospice or to Visiting Angels.
A celebration of Life service for Grace will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at the Central United Methodist Church in Endicott, NY.
A second celebration of life service will be held at the Hillsgrove Union Church on June 7 from 11 am to 1pm. Burial will follow in the Hillsgrove Cemetery, PA.
A luncheon at the Fire Hall will follow the services in PA.
