Gregory Dean Taylor's Obituary
Gregory Dean Taylor, 60, was born on September 15, 1964, to Paulette
Virginia (Sanford) Taylor and Robert Herman Taylor. Sadly, Greg
passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
Greg grew up in Leesburg, VA, where he lived for most of his life, and
graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1983. He was
employed by Capitol Builders Group as a CDL truck driver for over 25
years and was most recently employed as a driver by JL Tree Service
during the six months prior to his passing.
As a child, Greg enjoyed fishing and jet skiing while on vacation with
his family. As an adult, he enjoyed cooking, music, watching a good
movie (and buying them, a lot of them), and simply hanging out with
his friends. When Greg wasn’t working, cooking, or spending time
with his family and friends, he was cleaning his beloved truck. He
spent countless hours maintaining it, and it always shined. But most
of all, Greg loved his family and made sure they knew just how much
he cherished them. His greatest pride and joy came from being a
father to his two sons, Tobias and Jalen, and his two nieces, Shanea
and Latasha, whom he considered his daughters. There was a very
special lady in Greg’s life: his beautiful granddaughter Savannah, who
held a special place in his heart. Greg’s face would light up, and a
huge smile would spread across his face at the mere mention of her
name.
Greg is survived by his two sons: Tobias Taylor (Melissa Lambert) of
Tampa, FL, and Jalen Taylor (Rachel Lincoln) of Ashburn, VA; his
granddaughter, Savannah Taylor of Lyon, PA; his parents, Paulette
Taylor of Tampa, FL, and Robert H. Taylor of Leesburg, VA; his
brother, Bradley (Tracy) Taylor of Leesburg, VA; his grandmother,
Ruby Elizabeth Sanford of Jacksonville, FL; his nieces, Shanea Smith
and Latasha Smith, both of Ashburn, VA; his nephews, Tarik Taylor,
Dominique Taylor, and Tristan Taylor, all of Leesburg, VA, and Mateo
Taylor of Ruther Glen, VA; his aunt, Yvonne Taylor of Leesburg, VA.,
his uncle, William Taylor of Leesburg, VA; and his great aunts, Pearl
Lucas and Frances Lucas, both of Leesburg, VA. Greg also had many
cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Arthur William
Sanford; his paternal grandparents, Rosie Elizabeth (Johnson) and
William Hanson Taylor, Sr.; his aunts, Terry Ann (Sandford) Huff and
Robin Elizabeth Sanford; and his uncle, Edward Arthur (Barbara)
Sanford.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, with
visitation from 4:00–6:00 pm, followed by the funeral service from
6:00–7:00 pm at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE,
Leesburg, VA 20175.
