Harry Darnes, Jr.'s Obituary
Harry Thomas Darnes, Jr., 70, of Leesburg, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax. Born on August 17, 1936 in Washington, D.C.
He was the son of the late Harry T. Darnes and Margaret (Tavenner) Darnes Tobler of Ft. Myers, FL. Mr. Darnes was raised in Arlington, VA. He was a graduate of W&L High School in 1954 and a graduate of Hampden Sydney College in 1960. Mr. Darnes served his country in the US Army. He was employed as an Insurance Agent for 30 years with AllState in the Northern VA area.
He was also a very active coach on the local level, with his grandsons.
In addition to his mother Mr. Darnes is survived by his wife Donna B. (Ballance) Darnes of Leesburg, his daughter, Daryl P. and her husband Les Cummings of Leesburg, his son, Dennis B. and his wife Amy Darnes of Leesburg; five grandchildren, Brock, Chad and Dylan Pennington, and Charlotte and Emily Darnes, plus numerous cousins, other family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE 20175, Leesburg, Virginia, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, January 11, 2007. Graveside services and Interment will be held Friday, January 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, Virginia.
