Hazel L. Carter's Obituary
Mrs. Hazel L. Carter, 77 passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Heritage Hall Nursing and Rehab. in Leesburg, Virginia.
Hazel was born on Thursday, April 2, 1936 in Lucketts, VA. She was one of nine children, a daughter of the late Austin M. Holtzclaw and the late Elizabeth Sadie Russell Holtzclaw.
Hazel held many jobs during her life including working the cafeteria at Loudoun County High School. She worked for Printers II in Bladensburg, MD, as a book binder; and as a clerk at Blossom and Bloom in Leesburg, but most of all she loved being a homemaker, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She also loved to garden and her Pekinese dogs.
She was the wife of the late Lawrence W. Carter, Jr. who passed in November of 2012.
She leaves to cherish her memory her family including, daughter, Cathy Sue Huffman of Woodbridge, Son, Lawrence W. Carter, III of Triangle, VA brother, Clarence Holtzclaw of Leesburg, VA, sister, Anna Thomas of Purcellville, VA; 6 grandchildren, Crystal, Eddie, Jr., Tony, David, Danny, and Dixie; 5 great grandchildren, Lexis, Elyssa, Emma, Sean, Jacob.
A Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175 with the Pastor Paul Campbell officiating.
The family will receive guest before the funeral from 10 until 11 am.
Interment will be in Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, VA.
