Helen D. Symons' Obituary
Mrs. Helen D. Symons, age 87, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012 in Bluemont, VA.
Helen was born February 4, 1925 in Wildwood, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Frank George Dandois and Susanna Faith McKerihan. Affectionately referred to as “Dandy”, Helen received her BS in Anthropology from American University in Washington D.C.
Helen is survived by her two children, Sara H. Symons of Leesburg, VA, Thomas L. Symons and daughter-in-law Susan of Bluemont, VA; her brother, John M. Dandois of Athens, TX; brother-in-law Dave Symons of Rich Hill, MO; five grandchildren, Thomas L. Symons, Jr., Richard A. Symons, Polly E. Symons, Amanda L. Hager, Lindsay D. Broyles; and great granddaughter Gracie Mae Broyles.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Helen’s life at the Leesburg United Methodist Church, West Market Street, Leesburg, VA, on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10am.
Interment will be held privately in PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s memory to Loudoun Volunteer Caregivers.
