Helen Cilinski Terry's Obituary
Friday, May 17, 2024 Helen Cilinski Terry (age 94) departed this world. Wife of the late Paul Henry Terry, he preceded her in death after 57 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Emilia Cilinski; brothers: Walter (Eleanor) Cilinski, Edward (Catherine) Cilinski, Monsignor John Cilinski and Rev. Julius Cilinski, and sisters: Mary (James) Schulyer and Sister M. Camilla, CSC.
She is survived by 5 children: Thomas (Patricia) Terry, Paula Terry, Margaret Terry, Barbara Thacker, and Timothy (Tonya) Terry. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Steven (Katalina) Terry, Jessica Donoho, Kevin (Megan) Thacker, Jacob Terry, John (Katie) Terry, Patrick Thacker, Jillian Terry and Emma Terry. In addition, she is survived by seven great–grandchildren: Joseph, Oliver, Paul, Alesandra, Leyton, Grace and Levi. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Helen was born at the Cilinski family home on S. Pitt Street in Old Town Alexandria, VA on February 19, 1930. She loved God, her family, the Washington Redskins, and Maryland crabs.
Friends are invited to gather with family in Helen’s memory at the Lansdowne Community event room, 19385 Cypress Ridge Terrace, Leesburg, VA on Sunday, June 2 at 4:00pm – 7:00pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Ashburn, VA, Monday, June 3 at 10:00am. We will be offering a Rosary in Helen’s intention beginning at 9:40am.
Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Old Town Alexandria, VA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
